Networking event: inspire and meet
Some 120 participants representing 60 civil society organisations, foundations and (sports) associations from Lelystad met on 15 May during the inspiring network meeting Samen verder (Moving forward together) in De Kubus. The aim of the evening was clear: joining forces, strengthening cooperation and thus creating more impact together for the city and its inhabitants.
Meeting and inspiration
The meeting was organised by the Vrijwilligerscentrale Lelystad (part of Welzijn Lelystad) and focused on meeting, inspiration and connection. Representatives from various sectors - from welfare and care to culture and sports - were inspired and had the opportunity to network with each other.
Crucial role of volunteers
A special moment during the evening was the presentation of the market research on volunteering in Lelystad, conducted by Kiekendief Perspectief. The first copy of the research report was handed over to councillor Annemieke Messelink-Dijkstra. She expressed her appreciation for the commitment of volunteers and the crucial role of civil society organisations in the city: 'Volunteering is more than making sure we can play sports or music in Lelystad. It ensures that people meet each other. This strengthens living together and combats loneliness.'
Surprising performance
The evening was given a festive and light-hearted touch thanks to a surprise performance by 'Bobbie' - the alter ego of theatre-maker, producer and volunteer Gert-Jan van den Ende. With humour and a touch of theatre, he emphasised the connecting power of cooperation.
Positive reactions
Feedback from participants was unanimously positive. "It is SO valuable to meet and exchange ideas on such an evening," said one of the coordinators present. "This definitely tastes like more.
The Vrijwilligerscentrale Lelystad proudly looks back on a successful meeting and, together with its partners, takes the next step: strengthening each other in building a strong, connected and engaged society.
