What can we help you with? |
Close by, familiar and with attention to youWe listen carefully to your story, without judgement. Together, we look at what suits you: close, familiar and at your pace. |
Meet
For a chat, a cup of coffee or to do something together: the community room is a place where you are welcome as you are. You will find company, activities and a listening ear. Just catch up, get creative or simply step out of your daily routine.
Youth
Whether it is school, home, friends or yourself: we are here for you. Sometimes it is already nice when someone really listens to you. We take the time to work with you to find what suits you best. Together, we look at what works for you, in a way that suits your life.
Informal care
As a caregiver, you often care for another person alongside work, family, or study. This demands a lot of your time and energy. That is why we provide the kind of support that fits your needs: personal care, practical assistance, and time to catch your breath.
Volunteers
Much of our work is done together with volunteers. Would you also like to do something meaningful for others? You can do so in your own way. There are plenty of opportunities to do something for another. Together we can make a difference. In your own way, at your pace.
Rent space
You are always welcome at the community centre: whether for a cup of coffee, an activity, or just a chat. Community organizations can also come to us to rent a space for meetings, gatherings or workshops.
Transport
Do you lack your own transportation or have limited mobility? Make your plans as usual, whether to the doctor, to run an errand or to pay someone a visit. De Opstap and ANWB AutoMaatje are there especially for people who can no longer easily get around on their own.
Status holders
As a status holder, it is important to find your place in Lelystad. During the first year, we help you find your way in society and show you how to solve problems and make decisions with increased independence. You can still come to us even after your first year.
What we stand for
Welzijn Lelystad: Long live you
It's so good that you found us. And our motto is, "Long live you!" So do you need support or want to meet people? Are you caring for someone or would just like to volunteer?
You will find information there that you can really use.

How do you start afresh in a country you don’t know? Where everything is different: the language, the people and the customs? For Mehrbakhsh (59), the answer is simple: by getting stuck in. He came to the Netherlands a few years ago. In Lelystad, he found a place to start afresh and, above all, to get involved. ‘I volunteer for three organisations. My community centre
The community centre is the heart of the neighbourhood. Here you can meet others, take part in activities or enjoy a nice cup of coffee. For something more low‑key, you can also stop by the community room: a cosy place to be together.
