Fees
Professional respite care is reimbursed by your municipality, healthcare office or health insurer. Depending on your situation, you can contact:
- Municipality: if the person you care for receives Youth or Social Support Act Wmo support . Ask the municipality for more information.
- Care office: if the person you care for receives long-term, intensive care under the Long-Term Care Act (Wlz)
- Health insurer: some health insurers reimburse respite care - partially - within the supplementary insurance. Check the policy for conditions. Or ask the health insurer for more information. For the WMO and WLZ, income- and asset-related co-payments apply.
Personal budget (pgb)
The cared-for person can also pay for respite care with a personal budget (pgb.
Applying for a pgb can be done at the municipality, care office or health insurer. Where exactly depends on the law under which the required care falls. Below you can read where to go for your application:
- At the municipality: for Wmo (Social Support Act)
- At the municipality: for Youth Act
- at the health care office: for Wlz care
- with the health insurer: for Zvw, care and district nursing
PGB and informal care
In addition to professional care providers, the pgb holder can also call on you as an informal carer for care. In that case, you can be paid from the pgb. You must then provide the care for which the pgb is intended. The pgb holder enters into a contract with you for this purpose. It is advisable to use a model agreement from the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB).
In the case of Wmo or youth care, the municipality may apply specific rules.
