Looking back on an unforgettable day for informal carers
Nearly 100 carers joined us for a wonderful day of relaxation, appreciation and special moments. At 11am, the palace doors opened and we were warmly welcomed by the palace team. A warm reception followed on the atmospheric stables square with a delicious cup of coffee and freshly baked cake in one of the renovated stables.
Discovery and wonder
After a brief welcome speech, the group was divided into smaller groups to explore the splendour of the Historical Palace. The programme consisted of viewing two exhibitions and both parts of the palace. The first impressions caused a lot of wonder and great conversations.
Enjoying lunch together
Around noon, it was time for a luxurious lunch in the historic ballroom. Here, guests enjoyed a tasty soup and a richly filled sandwich, while experiences were shared and warm conversations ensued.
Leisure and highlights
In the afternoon, carers were given space to explore independently. The biggest attraction was the new Dresscode exhibition, featuring stunning dresses by Lady Gaga and Princess Diana, among others. The palace roof also proved a great success: the view was breathtaking.
Going home with happy memories
At 16.00, the group left, satisfied and with fond memories, back to Lelystad. We look back on a beautiful day, a well-deserved moment of appreciation for all those who dedicate themselves daily as carers.
