Nadetha looks back on two great years in the Waterbeaver

Anyone who stepped inside community centre the Waterbeaver was immediately given a warm welcome by good-humoured Nadetha Paulina. She had been a hostess for the past two years, through Werkbedrijf Lelystad's social jobs project. Nadetha worked a lot with social administrator Radi. 'I am glad Welzijn offers this opportunity, a good initiative in a nice place.'

Two years full of encounters

The social jobs project ends after two years and this moment has now arrived for Nadetha. She certainly regrets it, as she felt right at home when she joined the Waterbeaver in 2023. 'The atmosphere here is very nice. So many different people come and that makes it fun.'

Its role at the Waterbeaver

Nadetha welcomed all visitors, stood behind the bar and helped a lot in the kitchen. So she was also on hand when the community restaurant was open. Very sociable. I also helped Radi with all kinds of things and all in all it was very varied,' she recalls. She helped one last time during the neighbourhood restaurant and then it was really over.

What does the future bring?

What she will do next, Nadetha is not sure yet. 'I am still orientating, but my health doesn't always cooperate.' That's why this route suited her so well. 'After two years it really stops, I knew that when I started. I did sign up as a volunteer with Welzijn Lelystad but I'm going to enjoy my free time first. And put up my Christmas tree, because I'm really late with that this year.'

Nadetha, thank you for your commitment and we wish you all the best for the future and we hope to see you back at Welzijn Lelystad soon.
