Neighbourhood restaurant in the Waterbeaver a success
The first three-course dinner at the neighbourhood restaurant in the Waterbeaver was well received. More than 30 local residents enjoyed the cooking skills of pupils from practical school De Steiger on Thursday 25 January. The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone had a nice chat," recalls community worker Judith Vrede enthusiastically.
Deliciously cooked
The community restaurant is a cooperation of Welzijn Lelystad and practical school De Steiger. Through the Volunteer Centre, Haidy volunteered to help out during the dinner. 'The students cooked incredibly delicious food!' The starter was creamy winter soup with forest mushrooms. Then they enjoyed spiced pork steaks with game sauce, fried potatoes and sauerkraut with bacon. For dessert, there was apple strudel with vanilla sauce. After thunderous applause for the pupils of the Steiger, everyone went home satisfied.
