Prime minister Schoof visiting

Prime Minister Dick Schoof visited Lelystad Oost on Wednesday afternoon. Among other things, he walked through Zandbank, talked to residents and saw how the physical task is combined with the social conversation.

Power of cooperation

'Thinking big, but starting small. That, among other things, is the strength of our cooperation,' said our director Marieke Voogt. 'We have a shared urgency and a long breath. You don't do this overnight. Also important: a shared vision and responsibility.'

Conversations at the kitchen table

What does that look like in daily practice? Our community workers visit residents together with a resident consultant from Centrada. 'We just ring the doorbell and then have the most beautiful conversations at the kitchen table,' community worker Anna Rijpsma told us. 'Sometimes there is more going on behind the front door than you think. If you have debts, are ill or have become isolated, you are not concerned with your living environment.'

Liveability

'Very good that besides refurbishing the houses, there is also a focus on the quality of life in the neighbourhood,' Marieke added. 'People who are doing well can actively participate in society and are able to help build a stronger neighbourhood or district. Those who feel good about themselves require less care.'
