A buddy at your care appointment

Sometimes it is nice to have someone accompany you to an appointment at the hospital or other care institution, not only for company, but also to listen in or remember information.

Patient Support provides this support. Well-trained volunteers are happy to accompany you, including to hospitals outside Lelystad. They offer a listening ear, help you keep track of things and, if you wish, can share information from the conversation with your informal carer or other healthcare provider.

How does Patient Support work?

You simply apply for Patient Support via the application form, doing so at least four working days before you need the support. We will contact you within three working days to discuss the details.

Arranging transport for Patient Support

Would you like to use Patient Support? Then it is important that you arrange your own transport before applying. This is because we do not provide transport ourselves.

Fortunately, there are several possibilities:

Do you have a Wmo indication or a limited income? Then you can use FlexRRReis through the municipality for rides within the region. Find more information at https://www.rrreis.nl/flex-flevoland.

Easily request a ride from a volunteer driver from ANWB Automaatje.
Patient transport via your health insurance
In some cases, you can get reimbursed for patient transport through your health insurance. Please contact your own health insurer to discuss the possibilities.

Good to know:

Valys transport is meant for social outings and not for medical appointments. Therefore, we do not recommend combining it with Patientsupport.
Our companions do not ride along in the car of the person seeking help, due to insurance conditions.
